Being an introvert or extrovert is the part of the personality. There are some people who are outgoing by nature, while some others are very self-conscious and love to be introvert. The good thing is that the potential to be extrovert and introvert is in everyone.

To stop being an introvert, you need to figure out what hold you back from being an extrovert. Is it the fear of people what they might think of you or do you have an inferiority complex? Once you know the exact cause of being an introvert, you can chart out the road-map to be an extrovert.

Although it is difficult to stop being an introvert overnight, but if you put in sincere effort, you would start enjoying being outgoing over the period of time. Here are a few tips, you would find it helpful to come out of your shell and stop being an introvert:

1) REBUILD YOUR SELF ESTEEM

Having a positive self-image is essential to come out of your shell. When you feel good about yourself, you would feel less self-conscious and be ready to deal with the social challenges. To rebuild your self-esteem, you need to turn your focus from what you lack to positive aspects of your life.

2) FOCUS ON POSITIVE VALUE OF BEING AN EXTROVERT

By being introvert and spending time alone, you lose the most valuable things of life that people can provide in your life. Knowledge, friendship, an opportunity to grow, enhancing your level of happiness, support in time of need are some of the values you will love to enjoy while being with people.

3) LEARN SOCIAL SKILL

Being an introvert, you would find yourself less equipped in social skills but you need not to be worried about it. Social skills is not a rocket science, you can learn it while participating in a social activity by keeping yourself conscious about it. In some unexpected situations, the chances would be that you feel uncomfortable; that is natural but do not feel sorry for you. Embrace the fact that you are not an expert in social skills, take help from closed person and move on.

4) INTERACT WITH PEOPLE

You can get a lot of opportunity to interact with people through attending a conference, meeting new people in social gatherings, and of the same. Through interaction you will not only able to meet like-minded people but also have fun and gain a lot of knowledge.

5) CHOOSE THE TOPIC YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH

It would be easy for you to interact with people and have fun in social gathering, if you talk on the topic you are comfortable with. The encouragement and appreciations you get from people for your views on the topic you have sound knowledge; help you to stop being an introvert and you enjoy being with people.

6) BE CONFIDENT AND HAPPY

People love to be with confident and happy person. No one likes to meet with someone who are unhappy with their life and are frightened to tackle the challenges of life. To enhance your level of confidence; you should make sure to stand straight, not to cross legs and arms, put on smile on your face, and use eye-contact. Once you start radiating confidence through your personality, you begin to feel more confident and happy about yourself and others will notice it and like it.

7) RESPECT PEOPLE

Respect is the basic human desire and everyone wants to be respected. While talking to people you should learn to listen them carefully, ask them questions, give genuine compliment and respect them as they are; not how they should be. If you respect the people, they would love to be with you.

8) CONFRONT YOUR FEAR

If you fear about taking part in group discussion, meeting, or giving presentation, you should confront your fear and force yourself to do that otherwise it would haunt you throughout your life. Keep in mind that you cannot learn to swim by sitting on the river bank. Once you confront your fear, you would feel good and have a sense of achievement.

Hence, it is your responsibility to make your life worthwhile to live. If you think that by being introvert you are hampering your growth, you should make a sincere effort to come out of your shell.
